Press Release

Cheshire-based Marketing Agency helps connect local residents and businesses by creating a “virtual high-street” to keep the community thriving.

Boxed Red Marketing, an award-winning marketing agency based in Knutsford, Cheshire, has created a virtual Knutsford High Street (www.knutsfordhighstreet.com) in partnership with Knutsford Town Council and the local community. The website is an online catalogue of all the local businesses that are still providing their services to keep the town and community spirit alive in these unprecedented times.

Built with the community at the forefront, the virtual high street is not only an invaluable source of the most up to date information on local businesses in the area, but has been purposely designed to be easily accessible and inclusive to all, especially to those who are more vulnerable and need services such as home delivery and door drop. The engaging new website already features information on the services and delivery options of 66 local businesses in and around Knutsford, including fresh, locally grown fruit & veg, independent restaurants delivering food & drink, and several independent retail boutiques. We are adding businesses everyday so watch this space as our community website grows and evolves.

Janna Caley, Owner of Boxed Red Marketing, expressed that the innovative idea came to her when she found that her family were unaware of the businesses that were staying open and still providing services. Having grown up and lived in Knutsford, she was very much ‘in the loop’ on the community and wanted to use this information to help local residents and business navigate these unfamiliar circumstances.

Sandra Curties, the town centre and marketing officer for Knutsford Town Council, said, “When Boxed Red contacted us to work alongside us (without charge) to produce this website we knew it was something we had to do. We’ve been working closely with all businesses during these difficult times and to be able to offer a website that both supports businesses and puts in ‘one place’ what is on offer for residents is an excellent idea.”

The website was launched over the bank holiday weekend in an attempt to encourage the community to stay at home despite the good weather and support local businesses where they can, and has since been a hit. The website had over 2000 visits over the bank holiday weekend alone, with most visits going to the food and drink section as people enjoyed the bank holiday weather staying at home.
